At the National Art Center, Tokyo

■Jeff:  How do you like the painting over there?

■Naoko: Stunning! I like the way the painter expresses the lights.
               Who created that?

■Jeff:  Van Gogh. That masterpiece is called "The Starry Night".

■Naoko: Wow, you are so informative.
               Jeff, what's your favorite piece in this exhibition?

■Jeff:  Monet's "Green Harmony".
          I can feel the wind and sounds of the water from the painting.

■How do you like the painting?→その絵をどのように好きですか→その絵についてどう思います？■

この表現は相手に「～をどう思いますか？」とか「～はどうですか？」とコメントを求めるときに使います。

私の場合は米国にいた時に「How do you like living in the U.S.?」と多くの人に聞かれました。
もちろん、私は笑顔で「Great!」とか「Fantastic!」とか答えてました。（ほんとは毎日の車の運転がいやで、めげそうでしたが。。。自転車で買い物ができる日本はエコで素晴らしいです。。米国にはかご付の自転車がどこを探しても見つからなかったし、マウンテンバイクばかりで、自転車で買い物という発想自体が無かったですね。。。日本の便利なかご付自転車がもっと普及してほしいものです。）
ところで、この表現の目的語であるThe paintingのところをどんどん変えて、
How do you like your new job?
How do you like your school?
How do you like your boss?
How do you like your new car?
などのように使えます。
